Las
Tunas is located in the easternmost part of the Western region
of Cuba. Its coasts are bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and the
Guacanayabo Gulf. It features more than 30 virgin beaches.
Covarrubias
beach welcomes today international tourists and focuses the
tourist offer in the territory. Nature tourism has been developing
and the area provides a space for the speleological researches.
Also
called the capital of the sculptures Las Tunas is venue of
the most significant country fiesta in Cuba: the Jornada Cucalambeana,
homage to the former king of Décima, Juan Cristóbal
Nápoles Fajardo, known as el Cucalambé.
